Clients are welcome to work with any trainer they choose and all are welcome at Poinciana. Below are our resident trainers and those who come regularly for Poinciana clients:

SCOTT HASSLER

Scott Hassler, an internationally respected trainer, competitor and in-demand master clinician, is the owner and lead trainer of Hassler Dressage, based at Poinciana Farm in Florida year-round. Scott brings his lifelong experience training dozens of horses to the Grand Prix level and successfully competing nationally and internationally as both a rider and as a coach. Through his regular students and clinic sites he travels to, he always has an impressive number of combinations qualify for the Festival of Champions and USEF Markel Young and Developing horse Championships. In addition to his dressage successes, Scott enjoyed preparing Phillip Dutton and Boyd Martin for WEG and Tokyo Olympics!

SARA HASSLER

Sara Hassler is located at Poinciana Farm in Florida year-round. Sara’s tied for Reserve Intermediate I Champion at Festival of Champions in 2019, Champion in the 2019 Small Tour at Devon and The 2020 Brentina Cup U25 Grand Prix Champion. She is passionate about developing horses in their training at home as well as in competition, coaching riders of all levels from amateurs to professionals and in quality sales matching horses and riders.

REBECCA WAITE

Rebecca Waite is a USDF gold medalist and accomplished international rider and dressage trainer. After spending 7 years learning from top trainer, Shelly Francis, she has been successful in her own business in Wellington, Florida.

Educating both riders and horses to the top of their potential, working with each individual to meet their goals and pairing riders with appropriate mounts are among her specialties. Time spent in Europe each year ensures a broad advantage of continued education, contacts and scope of equine selection.

J J TATE

Jessica Jo (J J) Tate is based at Poinciana for the winter season along with her clients and their horses. She has trained and competed over 29 horses at the FEI levels, including eight at Grand Prix. Known for her classical education and elegant riding, she is a top competitor whose devotion to the very highest standards of horsemanship and integrity make her a positive role model in the contemporary dressage world. JJ has been long-listed for the World Equestrian Games and represented the United States in competitions abroad. She recently created Team Tate Academy, an on-line learning resource accredited by the United States Dressage University. JJ spends her summers training in Germany.

KRISTIN STEIN

From the Akron/Cleveland Ohio area, Kristin spent three years in Germany receiving her dressage training. After many years teaching and training in Ohio, Kristin re-located to the Wellington area in 2022. Kristin has a solid track record of importing and training multiple horses to National Championships and the FEI levels. She has coached Annelise Klepper to NAYC double gold medals and the Emerging Athlete Program for USEF. Kristin is proud of her success in matching clients to horses and is keen to see her students meet their goals and ambitions in the dressage arena.

JOHN AMBER

John Amber is a Loxahatchee resident and teaches regularly at Poinciana. John spent 10 years in Germany starting young stallions for Gestüt Sprehe. Since his return to the United States, he worked at Rolling Stone Farm and Crosiadore Farm starting young horses, developing and showing more experienced farm-bred horses along the way. He moved to Wellington to start his own business in 2012 and continues to specialize in starting young horses but also has a developing clientele of amateur riders.
