SUMMER BOARDING SCHOOL for 2023
All the training amenities plus a comprehensive and experienced riding and handling staff
May through October - Sessions ranging from two to six months
STUDENT BODY:
Young Horses - developing and/or starting
Challenging Horses - back to school
THE CURRICULUM:
Ground Work and Handling:
. grooming and handling
. basic behavior training
. daily ground work including clipping, farrier and trailer loading work
. Full board including turn out, walker, feed and hay, stalls
. Six days/week (off Mondays)
Riding:
. 3 – 6 days per week depending on program/need
. field trips as needed to local shows
The Campus:
. two round pens (one covered)
. large (140 x 200). fully fenced, all-weather, outdoor ring including jumps
. covered indoor ring, premium footing
. 8-horse covered walker with fans
. 4-bay farrier station
. vet room with AC and stalls
. perimeter walking trail around lake
. WellGrove Equine next door – CEM quarantine and reproductive veterinary facility
. Wellington offers top quality veterinary facilities and specialists plus monthly shows year around
The FACULTY:
Jane Cleveland – Farm Owner; Grand Prix dressage rider, 30+ year riding career of starting and developing young horses and re-training challenging horses through Grand Prix; breeder; rode for the U.S. at the World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Verden in 2002
John Amber – Lead Trainer - a career of starting young horses, spent 10 years at Gestüt Sprehe in Germany training young dressage stallions; 5 years starting horses at American breeding farms; in Wellington 10 years with an outstanding track record of starting and developing young horses as well as rehabilitating challenging horses
Kristin Stein – Dressage Trainer, also trained in Germany for 3 years, 20+ years of dressage training; from Akron Ohio, recently re-located to Wellington; talent for re-directing challenging and misunderstood horses, getting them back in the competition ring
Rafa Sesin – Jumper Trainer, from Tlaxcala, Mexico; 20+ years starting and selling young jumpers in Mexico; studied and uses natural horsemanship methods to begin ground work training; owns a small jumper farm in Deer Run; Farm Manager at Poinciana Farm
