Robin Shehan Joins Poinciana Farm Team as Horse Care Manager

Loxahatchee Groves, Fla. – Oct. 29, 2019 – Adding a vital member to their team of experts, Poinciana Farm is pleased to announce Robin Shehan as their Horse Care Manager. Robin brings a lifetime of equestrian experience to her new role where she will oversee the feeding and turn-out of the horses plus attending to clients.

Born and raised in Easton, Maryland, Robin began riding hunters when she was only eight years old and she participated in pony club. Athletics have played an important part throughout her life and she balanced her riding while training to become a Junior Olympic and National Swimmer, an all-star track and field athlete, as well as playing field hockey. In her 20s she was introduced to dressage through eventing and she quickly fell in the love with the sport. In addition to her riding, Robin was also a professional ballerina for many years, dancing as a soloist with the Alaska Dance Theatre Corps, the Maryland Ballet Theatre, the Annapolis Ballet Theatre, as well as studying at the Magadon Arts Festival in Russia.

Robin has a Certificate in Teaching/Education of Equestrian Sport from the Westmoreland Davis International Equestrian Institute in Leesburg, Virginia, and she studied at the International Academy for Equestrian Studies in Warendorf, Germany.

She has many years of barn management and medical horse care experience, plus a wealth of dressage competition experience as a USDF gold and silver medalist. During her career, she was the assistant of Bent Jensen for seven years and she also owned and operated her own boarding and training facility for over 13 years in Loxahatchee. Robin is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and playing a part in the success of Poinciana Farm and its clients.
